2018 Winner of the Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship for Godwin High School Grace Moncure - James Madison University

We are so excited to announce the 2018 Tyler Wentz Memorial Godwin Scholarship winner to be Grace Moncure. Grace was described by one of her teachers as having a heart of gold, being a quiet leader, and having a terrific work ethic. We love how Grace’s kindness has helped not only the Godwin community but the surrounding community as well. She has made our world a little brighter and happier, and that kindness will spread. We know that Grace will continue to pass her warm smile, caring soul, humbleness, laughter, passion for learning, and of course her genuine kindness on as she continues her education in the fall at James Madison University. Best of luck Grace!!

2018 Winner of the Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship for Tuckahoe Little League Kaeyln Wagner - Old Dominion University

The Wentz Family and members of the Tyler Wentz Memorial Fund are proud and honored to announce Kaeyln Wagner as the winner of the 2018 Tyler Wentz Memorial Tuckahoe Scholarship Award. Kaelyn has been a strong and positive influence for players, coaches, and parents around Tuckahoe Little League for about 9 years. She has played softball, umpired, and coached and mentored multiple softball teams from the 8-year-old’s who love turning cartwheels in the outfield, to middle schoolers who are more competitive and had big goals they set to accomplish (which they did by the way). With her strong mentorship skills and kind spirit, Kaelyn has demonstrated her commitment to the Tuckahoe community as well as being a positive leader and an outstanding role model for the younger generations. Keep that quick smile, giving heart, and strong work ethic Kaeyln! We wish you all the best at Old Dominion University!

2017 Winner of the Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship for Godwin High School Meredith Elliot - NC State

"I met Tyler in the 3rd grade and it was truly an honor to be nominated by a peer and awarded the T Wentz Scholarship. This scholarship really helped my family and I financially since I am attending an out of state school. Tyler was always such an amazing, kind hearted friend and I am glad that the community has come together to support scholarships in his honor." - Meredith Elliot

2017 Winner of the Tyler Wentz Memorial Scholarship for Tuckahoe Little League Brent Miller - Virginia Tech

"Winning the Tyler Wentz Tuckahoe Scholarship this year was truly an amazing honor. It allowed me to reflect and realize how much that Tyler and I had in common and how much we both accomplished during our time at Tuckahoe. Also, it made me realize how much time and effort both Tyler and I had put into each season. Before receiving this scholarship, it always reminded of Tyler when any type of baseball activity came about, and specially when I stepped onto Field 7 at Tuckahoe. Since receiving the scholarship, I am certain that I will be keeping Tyler in my heart as I will for sure keep baseball within for the rest of my life." - Brent Miller
